Dr. Connor O’Brien was raised in Piscataway, New Jersey. As an undergraduate, Dr. O’Brien received a bachelor’s degree in environment and agricultural sciences from McGill University in Montreal, QC, Canada. He then went on to pursue veterinary medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St. Kitts and completed his clinical year at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine in Indiana. After finishing veterinary school, he worked as an emergency clinician in a rotating internship in surgery and medicine in Madison, Wisconsin. His interest in ultrasound and echocardiography first developed during his internship and was further refined during his time as a general practitioner. Dr. O’Brien has completed the General Practitioner Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology (GPCert Cardio) in 2024 through Improve International (UK). He has also completed an intensive 5-week, case-based Fellowship in veterinary MRI under the mentorship of Dr. Jaime Sage, DVM, MS, DACVR. He remains deeply committed to the veterinary community serving as a scientific board review member for the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association (JAVMA) and the American Journal of Veterinary Research (AJVR). Dr. O’Brien currently resides in Highland Park with his wife Elise, daughter Naomi, and his two dogs Juno and Benny. In his pastime, he enjoys gardening, being-outdoors, cooking, music and spending time with his family.
